He came into this world on May 28, 2001, in Leominster, Mass., the son of Wendy A. (Metivier) Brown and Mark A. Morrell. Wendy and William Brown, Jonathan’s step-father, raised this young man in Fitzwilliam, where he attended local schools there.
Currently a freshman at the Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, Jonathan was a young man of so many dreams. Wanting to serve in the Marine Corps, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Jonathan longed for the days when he could enlist. This was evident by always seeing Jonathan, wearing a T-shirt reflecting the insignia of the US Marine Corps. He also shared a passion for baseball, a sport he enjoyed watching as an avid Red Sox fan, as well as a sport he excelled in, participating on the Monadnock Regional High School’s junior varsity baseball team. Because of his talents in the sport, he was most recently moved up into the varsity level team, an accomplishment, he was most proud of. He also shared a love for soccer and basketball, hoping to join the school’s basketball team in the fall.
Another hands-on skill that Jonathan possessed was that of his creativity in welding, another attribute he excelled in at school.
Sadly, he will never be forgotten by his parents of Fitzwilliam; his siblings, sister, Samantha Morrell of Rindge, NH, brother, Zackary Morrell and his twin brother, Joseph Morrell, both of Fitzwilliam; his maternal grandparents, Gene and Judy Metivier of Rindge; his aunts and uncles, Paul and Stacy Metivier of Nashua, NH, Christopher Metivier and his partner, Karl Daniels of Rhode Island, Michael and Lisa Metivier of Leominster, Debbie Rochette, of Ashby, MA, Brian and Jessye Metivier of Townsend, MA, Marie and Ken L’Ecuyer of Westminster, MA; several cousins; and his many friends both on and off the baseball field.
A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:00AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Royalston Road, Fitzwilliam. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
For those who wish, donations may be made in Jonathan’s honor to full-fill a dream for completion of his senior project, by constructing a bleacher to be placed at the school’s baseball field. Donations may be sent to the Monadnock Regional High School, c/o Tom Cote, 580 Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey, NH 03446, with a notation for the baseball field bleacher construction fund.
