

He was born in Bellows Falls, Vermont on March 15, 1956, the son of Harold Edward and Jean (Kiniry) Torrey. He grew up in North Walpole, NH, attending local schools.
In his earlier work career Lance was employed as a manager for Tire Warehouse, a technician for Rutland Kawaski, and boat mechanic for Jim’s Marina. More recently, he was a self-employed painter and co-owner with his brother, Dana, of Excel Powderwerks of Walpole.
Lance was also an avid runner and cyclist. He was passionate about all things mechanical, especially cars and motorcycles. He was most proud of the 1970 Dodge Demon which he built the motor for, in his late teens. He loved boating and snowmobiling. He was an enthusiastic reader and gained great knowledge through reading as well as through day-to-day life learning. He will be remembered as a great storyteller.
He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter Church in North Walpole, and could be found helping out with various painting projects and maintenance requirements at the church.
A dedicated father and family man, Lance will be greatly missed by his wife of 20 years, Kelly A. (Miller) Torrey of Charlestown; his children, Colin Edward Torrey of Charlestown, Breige Reilly-Pratt and her husband, Michael, of Gilsum, NH, Kathleen Reilly of Sierra Vista, AZ; three grandchildren, Charlotte Pratt, Madalynn Pratt, Harper Pratt; his brother, Dana Torrey and his wife, Ann, of Westmoreland, NH; a nephew, Joshua Torrey; a niece, Mollie Torrey; his mother-in-law, Maureen Caskin and her husband, Roland, of Walpole, NH; and his father-in-law, Ken Miller and his wife, Janie, of Hodgenville, KY. He was predeceased by a son, Matthew J. Reilly, on April 23, 2005.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10:00AM in St. Peter Church, 38 Church Street, North Walpole. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Drewsville Road (Route 123), Walpole. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday afternoon from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH.
