MaryLou Day

She was born in Morrisville, NY on July 17, 1930, the daughter of C. Sterling and Leah (Parsons) Tayntor.

Mrs. Day was a high school math teacher, teaching at various high schools in New York State, retiring from teaching at the Troy (NY) High School.

Following her husband, The Reverend Doctor Roger U. Day’s in his pastoral responsibilities, Mrs. Day was a member of the United Methodist Church of Queensbury, NY, the United Methodist Church of Troy, NY, Trinity United Methodist Church of Schenectady, NY, and the Grace United Methodist Church in Keene.

She is survived by a son, Jereme Day and his wife, Liza, of Wiesbaden, Germany; a daughter, Cathleen Traphagen of Hillsborough, NJ; two grandsons, Joshua Sterling Day and Jonathon Darryl Day, both of Mesa, AZ; a brother, Philip Tayntor of Lakeland; a sister, Charlotte Battisti, of Leverett, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, The Reverend Doctor Roger U. Day, in 2011.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. Rev. Lena Mark, Pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church of Keene, will officiate.

In the lieu of flowers, the family requests for those who wish, that donations be made in Mrs. Day’s memory to the American Cancer Society New Hampshire Division, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03310; or to the American Red Cross, NH West Chapter, 83 Court Street, Keene, NH 03431.
