He was born in New Britain, CT in 1945, the son of Louise (Ainsley) and Matthew J. Karnecki, Sr. He was a 1963 graduate of New Britain High School.
He worked as a Systems Analyst with the Hartford Insurance Group. Matthew enjoyed sports, especially baseball. He was an avid music lover, and is remembered by many who participated in his “Name that Tune” contest. He frequently vacationed with his family in Florida, Disney World being his favorite destination. He and his wife, Kathryn, were members of the Sportsmobile Social Club, and traveled throughout the United States with the group.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Karnecki of Gilsum, whom he married on June 20, 1970, in Farmington, CT; children, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Laurel and Kristin Karnecki; loving grandchildren, and a brother David Karnecki.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in the Centennial Cemetery, Gilsum.
