Moses Thomas Damone Hart

Early Sunday morning, November 13th, Moses passed away at Cheshire Medical Center after a battle with health issues over the past several months. Moses was 16 years old.

Moses was born in the town of May Pen, Jamaica on April 26th, 2006, to Annie Diana Sparks. At the age of one, he was taken into the care of The Missionaries of the Poor by Father James Kandole Saturday where he spent one year in the Bethlehem Children’s Home in Kingston, Jamaica. At the age of two,

Moses moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts under the loving guardianship of Frank and Ellen Aldrich and their daughter Kristen. The Aldrich’s provided Moses with a loving home, as well as, complex medical care while they sought out a permanent family to welcome Moses into their home. The blessing of Moses in our life would never have been possible without the love and generosity of the Aldrich family. Moses loved them so very much. In 2010, at the age of four, Moses was officially adopted into the Hart family.

When the Hart’s adopted Moses, their vision was to provide Moses with a loving and stable family. The Hart’s also sought to give Moses a fulfilling and adventurous life while helping Moses to overcome the potential limitations of his disabilities. Moses achieved so many things in his short time including, horseback riding on his favorite horse Ruby, attending multiple years of summer camp at Double H Ranch, swimming in his Make A Wish Pool, summiting a White Mountain’s 4000 footer, ice skating, bowling with the Special Olympics, skiing and kayaking with Crotched Mountain Accessible Recreation and Sports, lots of sledding, summiting Mt. Caesar with an adapted wheelchair, multiple family camping trips throughout the Northeast, as well as innumerable adventures with family and friends. Although the Hart’s tried to give Moses many great memories and experiences it pales in comparison to the love that Moses gave to them. Words cannot explain the pain of his loss.

Anyone that met Moses was touched by his patience, perseverance, gentle spirit, and smile even throughout his recent battle with multiple complex and difficult health issues. He was never one to complain and he always showed great appreciation for the help of others. Moses faced many hardships, and he truly embodied the warrior spirit.

He was incredibly social, and he always valued the friendships he made throughout his life. He especially loved being surrounded by his aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family at family gatherings.

Moses loved using his Eyegaze computer to tell others about his ever-growing family. Which was no small task.

One of Moses’ longtime therapists shared that the words that came to mind about Moses are his laugh, his smile, his trouble-making prankster self, strong-will and determination.

Moses was proud of his Jamaican heritage and loved sharing that part of his story with others.

Other interests that Moses had was a love of country music, Star Wars, the study of Planets, as well as a love of telling jokes.

Moses’ schooling included several years at Cedarcrest School and most recently he completed 8th grade at Monadnock Regional Middle School.

Moses attended church at St. Bernard’s and Our Lady of Czestochowa where he faithfully attended CCD classes where he enjoyed learning about his Catholic Faith.

Moses is preceded in death by his “Papa” Frank Aldrich. His maternal Grandmother Patricia Tenero, and his Paternal Grandparents Stanley and Constance Hart. Moses is survived by his father, Robert and mother, Catherine; his siblings Ian and his wife Bonnie, Ryan, Collin, Shannon and her husband Drew, Maura, Tim, Aidan, and Liam. Uncle “Mo” Moses will be greatly missed by his nephews Connor, Cillian and Bearett and his niece Sage all of whom he loved dearly. His Grammy Ellen and her husband Frankie Peotrowski; his Pa Edward Tenero and his wife Sally; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Services for Moses will include a wake on Friday November 18, 2022, at St. Bernard’s Church Keene, NH from 6-8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 19, 2022, at St. Bernard’s Church Keene, NH at 11am. Following the mass, Moses will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery, 875 Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey, NH. Moses will rest in view of the family home.

There are many amazing people the family would like to thank for their dedication to helping Moses throughout his life including all of his transporters, therapists, teachers, caregivers, medical professionals, and all those who kept Moses and his family in their prayers especially throughout these difficult months.
