

He was born in Woodside, New York, December 6, 1923, the son of Marguerite (Bogenrieder) and Paul Loves, Sr. He was a graduate of Long Island City High School and attended MIT.
Mr. Loves was a Staff Sergeant in the 823rd Bomb Squadron of the Army Air Corp during World War II. He later attended the New England Air Force Training School in Connecticut.
In 1969, he moved from Amityville, New York to Keene, where he was an assistant vice-president and bond underwriter with the Peerless Insurance Company in Keene, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of the Amityville Drum and Bugle Corp Drill Team, and a lifetime member of the Amityville American Legion Post #1015.
Mr. Loves was also a member of the Keene Lions Club and served on the Board of Directors for the Monadnock United Way. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Keene Country Club. While participating in one of many club tournaments, he was successful in achieving every golfer’s dream, that of scoring a hole-in-one. He also enjoyed bowling at Yankee Lanes in Keene, playing bridge, and watching his favorite television show, “Wheel of Fortune”.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years, Phyllis “Peggy” (Dirico) Loves of Keene; his children, Phillip Loves of Keene, Patrice Loves of Middletown, PA, Paula Robinson and her husband, Carl, of Noblesville, IN; his grandchildren, Patrick Loves, Patty Loves, Matthew O’Neil, Corey Robinson, Shelbi Robinson, Melanie Frank; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday evening, October 2nd at 6:00 PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home.
