

He was born in Akron, Ohio, January 23, 1963, the son of Laurence P. and the late Delores Luopa.
He grew up in Troy and was a graduate of Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, NH. While in high school, he was a member of the school’s football, basketball and baseball teams. He went on to earn an Associate Degree in Business from Franklin Pierce University and was currently working on obtaining his Bachelor Degree.
Ron worked for the past 26 years as supervisor with Timken Super Precision of Keene. He loved working with children as was evident in his fourteen years traveling with students participating in the Cheshire YMCA American Heritage Tours and the Cheshire YMCA New England Heritage Tours, as well as coaching Junior High School basketball at Monadnock Regional High School. He loved to fish and was an avid Celtics fan.
He lived his life to the fullest, with his life centering around his love for his wife and children. He always put everyone else’s needs first, before his own.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Julie A. (Pratt) Luopa of Troy, a son, Matthew P. Luopa and his girlfriend, Jessica Poplaski, who are expecting Ron and Julie’s first grandchild any day, two daughters, Emily A. Luopa and her boyfriend, Corey Visto of Keizer, Oregon, Kaleigh M. Luopa and her boyfriend, Aric Powers of Troy, his father of Troy, two brothers, Robert G. Luopa, and Randy Luopa and his wife, Donna, all of Troy, a sister, Rhonda Luopa of Troy, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lorraine and Alvin Pratt of Keene, NH, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert A Pratt and his wife, Nancy, of Merrimack, NH, Dennis J. Pratt and Debbie, of Troy, Sharon M. O’Connor and her husband, Michael, of West Chesterfield, NH, and Richard E. Pratt and his wife, Jennifer, of Spofford.
A casual celebration of his life will held Thursday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Inn at East Hill Farm, 460 Monadnock Street, Troy, NH. Family and friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in Mr. Luopa’s memory to the Cheshire YMCA American Heritage Tour or to the Cheshire YMCA New England Heritage Tour, c/o of Cheshire YMCA, 32 Lake Street, North Swanzey, NH 03431, to benefit students who could not otherwise afford to attend these annual tours of our great American history.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.
