
Richard Hines died peacefully on June 2, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, New Hampshire at the age of seventy-one.
Richard is survived by his wife Carol of forty-eight years, his daughter Meredith Hines and her husband Peter McConnell of Keene, New Hampshire and his son Christopher and his wife Kerri Hines of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, and five grandchildren; Brodie and Murphy McConnell, and Brendan, Cooper and Sawyer Jane Hines.
Richard graduated from Suffern High School and Ramapo College with a degree in Psychology and later became a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Richard worked for many years as a MICA clinician counseling patients at New York Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains, New York. After moving to Keene, Richard continued to counsel those in need and was an active participant in his church where he enjoyed playing his guitar.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Monadnock Covenant Church, 90 Basehill Road, Keene, New Hampshire beginning at 10:30 am.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care, where Richard received compassionate care in the final hours of his life.
