Robert S. Manwaring III

Robert “Bob” S. Manwaring, III., 54, a resident of Alstead, NH, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with leukemia, surrounded by his family at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH on Sunday, December 4, 2016.

He was born on October 15, 1962 in Norwalk, CT; the son of Robert S. and Janice (Fretina) Manwaring, Jr. He graduated from Monadnock Regional High School in 1980. On September 5, 1993 he married the love of his life, Mary Greene.

Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed biking, kayaking, fishing, and taking his dog Udo on long walks. He spent many summers vacationing with his family in Wells, ME and Marshfield, MA. What he enjoyed most was cheering on and coaching his sons’ sports teams. Above all, he was a loving dad and devoted husband.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Manwaring of Alstead; two sons, Christopher and Matthew; his mother, Janice Manwaring of Keene; his sister, Sandy Smith and her husband Jeff of Troy; his brother, Rick Manwaring and his wife Ali of Keene; his mother-in-law, Cathy Greene of MA; two sisters-in-law, Liz Griffin and her husband Chip of CT and Sharon Bushway and her husband Jim of MA; nieces, Alyssa Smith, Kelsey Manwaring, Emma Bushway and Eleanor Bushway; nephews, Ryan Smith, Tim Manwaring, Emmet Griffin and his wife Kat, Ryan Griffin and Tommy Bushway, and several aunts, uncles and extended family members. He is predeceased by his father, Robert S. Manwaring, Jr and his father-in-law, Tom Greene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Church Street, North Walpole, NH, at 9:30am. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH. Family and friends are invited to call on the family on Friday evening at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH from 6 to 8pm.

A fund has been established to promote the continued education of his children, c/o the Bob Manwaring Memorial Fund, Savings Bank of Walpole.
