

She was born in Scranton, PA, on December 6, 1925, the daughter of Robert and Frances (Vandling) Fetridge. She attended Skidmore College, class of 1948.
She married Frank Sloat on December 27, 1946, in a ceremony in Rye, NY.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and other handiwork. She was an avid reader.
I
n addition to being a devoted mother, she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a worked as an elementary librarian for many years.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years: Frank Sloat of Keene; her daughters Stephanie Donnaruma and her husband Jay, of Delmar, NY and Jill Antonucci and her husband Robert, of Newark, NY; four grandchildren as well as 7 great grandchildren.
Services, celebrating Mrs. Sloat’s life, will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 3:00 at the Fletcher Funeral Home. An hour of visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial donations can be made, in Sara F. Sloat’s name, to the Keene Community Kitchen (www.thecommunitykitchen.org), 37 Mechanic St., Keene, NH 03431.
