Shawn was a proud graduate of Keene High School, Class of 1992. During his time there, he served as the manager of the Freshman Boys Basketball team as well as the manager of the KHS Boys Football team for all four years of high school, roles he embraced with dedication and enthusiasm, and where he was welcomed and supported by the entire team.
For many years, Shawn worked at TD Bank in Keene in the records department at the Key Road complex. He held great pride for what he called his "paperwork" job and, for several years, bicycled to work from his nearby apartment. He also worked at the Keene Recreational Center and volunteered at several local thrift stores, always eager to contribute to his community.
An avid participant and passionate supporter of Special Olympics New Hampshire, Shawn was a fixture on Keene-area teams for many years. He competed in track and field, bocce, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and more. After his playing days, he continued giving back as an assistant basketball coach. Shawn was fortunate enough to attend numerous state-level games and even two Special Olympics World Games. He treasured time with his teammates at practices and social events and often shared stories of his athletic accomplishments.
Shawn loved to travel with his family, especially to the Maine seacoast and throughout New England. He also enjoyed family trips around the USA and loved seeing the Grand Canyon and Pacific Ocean. He also deeply cherished several international trips that took him to England and New Zealand to visit family.
In his spare time, Shawn enjoyed bowling at Yankee Lanes, gardening with housemates and support staff, reading the Keene Sentinel each day, watching television game shows, and passionately following his favorite Boston sports teams, the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots. He loved music and dancing, often the first on the dance floor and the last to leave. Shawn always looked forward to a special meal with friends at his favorite Keene restaurant, Athens Pizza.
Shawn was easily the most cheerful and outgoing person in any room. He greeted friends and strangers alike with a warm smile and an enthusiastic hug. He genuinely wanted to know how others were doing and was always ready to listen. He delighted in recounting his Special Olympics days and never forgot to ask how you thought the Patriots were performing, always ready with his own spirited opinion.
Shawn is survived by his brother, Chris Wiggin of Torbay, New Zealand; his sister-in-law, Melanie; and his beloved nephew, Grant. He is also survived by his Uncle Mike Toscano of Keene; Aunt Jan Snowling and Uncle Doug Snowling of Keene; Uncle Terry Wiggin and Aunt Caroline Wiggin; and his cousins Tracy, Bethany, Anthony, Scott, Jeff, Todd, Samantha, and Meredith.
In addition to his parents, Shawn was predeceased by his Aunt Sharon Toscano in December 2025.
