Shirley Louisa Smith

She was born in Palmer, MA on September 19, 1937, to Charles and Rose ( Lord ) Derosier. She grew up in Keene and attended St. Joseph Regional Catholic School.

She married Donald W. Smith, Sr., in a ceremony in Keene, on January 30, 1953.

She was a frequent BINGO player, and enjoyed her pet bird, as well as her Papillion mix dog Angel. She really enjoyed family gatherings, and was a kind and giving soul, often treating the neighborhood children as her own supplying gifts, snacks and other treats to them.

She is survived by her children: David A. Smith and his wife, Leslie of Swanzey, Donald W. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Troy, Donna J. Wilbur and her husband, David of Swanzey and John A. Smith of Keene; her siblings: Frederick Derosier and his wife, Arlene of Keene, Arlayne Pierce and her husband David of Swanzey and Pauline Clifford of Keene; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years: Donald W. Smith, Sr.; her siblings: Lawrence Derosier, Barbara Dalton and Lorraine Boyd as well as a daughter: Debra Ann Smith.

A service, celebrating the life of Mrs. Smith, will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 12:00 pm, at the Fletcher Funeral Home. An hour of visitation will take place from 11:00 until 12:00. Burial will be private, at a later date.
