

Our beloved Letha Belle Young, a beacon of love and strength, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family. Letha was not just a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she was a great storyteller, a source of unwavering strength, and a gentle guiding light who touched countless lives with her kindness and warmth.
Born on November 28, 1942, Letha spent her early years in the small town of Vera and later attended school in Benjamin, where she met the love of her life, Howard (Butch) Young. Their enduring marriage of 64 years was a testament to their deep bond, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Together, Letha and Butch built a successful stainless steel business that thrived for over 40 years. Her dedication and generosity profoundly impacted the lives of everyone who had the privilege to work alongside her, leaving a legacy of compassion and hard work.
Letha had a passion for travel, loved spending time in her garden, and cherished the hours spent with a good book. These simple joys enriched her life and brought happiness to those around her.
Letha is survived by her devoted husband, Howard (Butch) Young; two children, Tammy Graves Schellhorn and her husband, John Schellhorn, and Sammy Young; five grandchildren, Cory Graves and his wife, Olivia, Sheena Young, Cody Graves and his wife, Linda, Jared Graves and his wife, Brittany , and Kacie Mitchell and her husband, Brandon; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylah, Matthew (Bubba), Rylie, Chandler, Leighton, Tyler, and Baylor; her two beloved sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Young and Billie Cummings; brothers Larry Gore, Randall Gore, and Rudy Gore; and her brother-in-law, Kevin Trainham. She was reunited in peace with her mother, Bobby Jo Murphy Gore; father, Dolton Gore; sister, Dara Trainham; brother, Joe Wade Gore; and daughter, Lisa Annette Young.
A celebration of Letha's remarkable life will be held on June 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home. We invite all whose lives she touched to join us in honoring her memory.
