

Ft Worth, TX: Melissa Keen (McDonald) Houser, 71, passed away Tuesday Dec. 8, 2020 at Arden Place Nursing Home in Richland Hills, TX.
She was born Jan 30, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia, the middle daughter of Clark Edward and Sylvia Dorothy Keen (Kirkconnell) McDonald. The family also lived in Memphis and McLean, VA. She was a 1971 graduate of Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, VA. On April 9, 1972 she married Donald W. Houser Jr, who survives. They lived in Staunton, VA, where she worked as a bridal consultant at H. L. Lang Jewelry Store. They moved to Ft Worth, TX in fall of 1977. She played on a lady’s soccer team for a number of years, and retired from the Keller Independent School System Food Services, where she served as cafeteria manager for various schools.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, three children: Kathryn Blake Houser, of Ft Worth; Clark Worthington Houser (Alison) of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Drew Donald (Jill) Houser of Midland, Tx.
She is also survived by her four wonderful granddaughters, Cora Lynn, Laney Nicole, Cami Mae and Rory Paige. Two sisters, Ketti Kathleen Tyree, of Leesburg, VA. and Leigh Anne Forrester (John) of Waynesville, N.C. Nieces Kristin Elizabeth Stierle (Erwin), Catherine Alexandra Massar (Christopher), Nephews Greg McDonald Tyree (Abby), Ian Geoffrey Forrester (Whitney), Brace William Hitchcock, (Shannon); 6 great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Services will be held at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Pkwy., Keller, TX 76248. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec 13, 2020 at 10:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 11:30 am. Burial will be at 1:00pm at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX, 76034.
