Samuel Augustine Martinez died in Fort Worth, TX on June 7, 2025 at the age of 67, after a long battle with cancer. He spent the final weeks of his life surrounded by family, stories, and the music of Pink Floyd.
Samuel is survived by his wife Susan, his children, Kyle Martinez (Teresa) and Rachel Martinez, and his sweet granddaughters, Marie & Madison. He was predeceased by his son, Sammy, with whom he is now reunited. Samuel will be forever missed by his father, Augustine Martinez, his mother Sandra McCart, his beloved brother, Joseph Martinez (Michele), sisters Michele Martinez Siano (Carly) and Julia Youssef (Joseph), as well as 5 nephews and 9 nieces.
Samuel was born in Newark, NJ, living in a multigenerational household until his family moved to Nutley, NJ, where he graduated high school and met his wife Susan. Always a dreamer, he had his sights set on California, and asked Susan to marry and go with him. She said yes to both. Starting with that first cross-country trip, they embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, one that spanned 45 years, two coasts, three children, and two grandchildren. He was passionate about his career as a Dental Technician, owning a dental laboratory for 32 years. Samuel was also a proud and dedicated member of the Musconetcong Masonic Lodge #42 in Budd Lake, NJ, where he served as a Past Master.
He will be remembered most for his fun-loving spirit, unique dance moves, fierce devotion to his family, and a heart that never stopped loving tenderly, despite life's hardships.
The family is remembering Samuel privately at this time. Please consider making a donation to World Central Kitchen (wck.org) or Mission Blue (missionblue.org) in his name to honor his memory.
