On Friday, February 24, 2023, Warren Campbell, loving husband, father and “Pops” passed away at the age of 82. Warren was born on February 16, 1941 in Mt. Judea, Arkansas to Lunie and Jewel (Criner) Campbell. After graduating high school he moved to Kansas City where he held odd jobs. From there he moved to Dallas, TX where he met his wife Mary Kay. He then had the opportunity to move to New York City to attend brokerage school on Wall Street. He traded commodities for a few years after returning to Dallas to be with Mary Kay. They were married on July 18, 1970. They spent the early years of their marriage traveling and starting a business together. On February 23, 1975 they welcomed their only child, a daughter, Michelle Campbell Gilmartin (Sean).
Warren and his wife ran a successful design showroom for 25 years, in Dallas, TX. During that time they also ran a large Polled Herfered cattle ranch, in Flower Mound, TX. They built a beautiful home in Flower Mound where they retired to. Warren continued ranching and nothing made him happier than to see the wildlife on their property and to see new life being born every spring.
Warren loved his community and was very active in supporting it. He helped with many Mayoral elections and attended as many town council and planning and zoning meetings as possible. He was even successful getting several ordinances passed that have served to keep Flower Mound as beautiful as it was 43 years ago, when the Campbells started their ranch.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Kay, their daughter Michelle, her husband Sean, and their twin sons, Tim and Sam (15). His brother Donnie (Carol) Campbell of Harrison, AK; Sister Deborah (Greg) Campbell Wegener of Overland Park, KS; His brother-In law and Sister In-Law, Harlan and Judy Beasley of Arvada, CO; as well as many aunts, uncles, beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lunie and Jewel (Criner) Campbell; Sister Dolores (Campbell) Moenning; and Brother Glen Campbell.
We will be honoring Warren with a Celebration of Life in the weeks to come. In the meantime, if you so desire, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
