Alice was born in Summerland, BC and grew up living on an Orchard, with her adoring parents, two older sisters and a younger brother. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Jack and Alma Brown in April 1997.
From an early age, Alice’s creativity was obvious to everyone around her. She was a talented painter, and enjoyed singing and playing her guitar. Alice was a creative hair stylist and had many clients in the Kamloops area during her career. She could often be spotted riding her bike around town, complimenting the style of those she passed if they caught her eye. She was not one to shy away from giving compliments when they were warranted, and making those around her feel special.
In 2000, Alice tragically suffered a brain injury and had been living in Long Term Care ever since. In spite of her brain injury, her firery spirit shone through and she was still able to get a laugh from those around her with her “bad” jokes. While she will be missed by all who knew her, we know she is no longer held back by her injury and is free and at peace.
Alice leaves to mourn; her daughter, Terra Lee Wilson and granddaughter Jasmine Pearce of New Zealand, her siblings; Julie Smith of Aldergrove, Betty Thomas (Donald) of Kelowna , Gavid Brown (Jean) of Kelowna and aunt, Pearl Mackenzie, also of Kelowna. Alice also leaves many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her greatly.
The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate staff of Lakeview Lodge, West Kelowna, for their excellent care in making Alice’s last days comfortable. Thank you.
