Amy was born October 8, 1931 in R.M. of Hillsburg, Shortdale, Manitoba. The family moved to Kelowna when she was 9 years old. She worked at a candy store and an ice cream shop while attending school. After her marriage to Frank Schleppe, Amy worked at Simoneau Light fixtures for many years. She also worked at Douillard construction and also had many, many Boarders which all became the best of friends with Amy and Frank. She kept herself active enjoying roller skating, bowling, cards, bingo, casino, golf and traveling..Amy was always smiling and laughing (might have been the wine!). As an auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Amy volunteered for many events, such as poppy drives and cooking in the kitchen.
Other volunteer work included the Canadian Cancer Society and FolkFest. Amy and Frank were together for 69 years.
