It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brent Neil Pateman on May 6th, 2022 at the age of 46 in West Kelowna. He was the loving husband of Marlee and son of Neil & Patti Pateman of Salmon Arm. In May 2020, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. He put up a valiant fight, and continued treatment until a few weeks before his passing.
Brent was born in Kamloops on April 26th, 1976. He was a super happy and energetic child who never stopped laughing. Brent moved to Prince George in 1981 and he went to schools in College Heights, Highglen, and Hart Highlands. He graduated from Duchess Park Secondary in 1994. He worked at Mcdonalds when a student and then Save On foods in Prince George.
He enjoyed his job at Save On Foods and went on to make it his life career with a move to Kelowna in 2007 as an assistant store manager, where he worked at multiple stores in Kelowna.
It was when working at Save On Foods in the Hart in Prince George where he met Marlee. Their romance blossomed and she moved with Brent to Kelowna. They were married in 2011. They were so fortunate in that their interests were so similar, golfing, fishing, hiking, boating and jeeping. Brent played recreational hockey for a number of years, and they both enjoyed watching hockey.
Brent brightened the lives of everyone with his sense of humour and wit. His family and friends will undoubtedly find comfort sharing in the endless collection of memories and stories of time spent with him. Brent valued his time spent with family and friends, whether offering advice, a kind ear to listen, or simply sharing a laugh.
Brent was pre-deceased by his infant brother Colin, his maternal grandparents Jim & June English, Paternal grandparents Grace & Lewis Pateman, and his mother in law Leah Poruchny.
He is survived by his loving wife Marlee, his parents Neil & Patti Pateman, sister Kim (Mike) and children, brother in law Richard and children and fiancé Kristen, sister in law Meagan (Kurtis), and father in law Mark Poruchny.
