Doris Betty Baker passed away peacefully at 10:30 p.m. on December 23, 2025. She was born on April 20, 1940, in Brandon, Manitoba. In 1968, Doris and her beloved husband Craig moved their young family to British Columbia, where they made Kelowna their home for the past 57 years. Doris was a talented florist, proudly certified through Olds College. She had a lifelong love of flowers, bringing beauty and care into everything she created. She will be remembered for her warmth, her welcoming spirit, and her love of hosting and gathering with family and friends, always making everyone feel at home.
Doris is lovingly remembered and will be missed by her devoted husband of 65 years, Craig Baker; her children Jeffrey (Sandra), Loree (Brent), and Jennifer (Bill); her cherished grandchildren Melissa (Matt), Daniel (Rob), Courtney (Brandan), Brady (Danni), Haley (Kane), Karson (Jaydn); and great-grandchildren Ryder, Aspen, Hudson, and Eden. She is also survived by her brothers Jim and Charlie of Brandon, Manitoba. Doris was predeceased by her mother Doris in 1969, her father William in 1981, her sisters Marion, Gwen, and Pat, and her brothers Lawrence, Ralph, Ken, Robert, Lew, and Don. Above all, Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always took the time to listen, laugh, and play many games of Rummicube and Yahtzee with her grandchildren, creating treasured memories.
As Doris would say, we don’t say goodbye, we say “tootaloo,” because we will see each other again.
A private celebration of Doris’s life will be held at a later date.
