Doug resided in Gaspe during his childhood with his parents Doug Sr and Margaret and his younger siblings Maureen and Patricia.
Doug met Diane when he was 21. They were married in September of 1964 and travelled across the country to BC where they settled in the Lower Mainland. where they raised their two girls Darleen (Steven) and Deana (Barry) and enjoyed seeing their grandchildren; Kathleen, Colin, and Sean.
Doug was an entrepreneur and an adventurer. They had wonderful memories of the five year cruise to the Sea of Cortez, Mexico in their sailboat the "Tamaru". Later they spent their summers in the Lethbridge area of Alberta and their winters in La Manzanilla, Mexico. His final 2 years were at Lakeview Lodge in West Kelowna, BC with Diane.
