HARRIS, Edna Theresa born in Winnipeg in 1928 passed away peacefully at Kelowna Hospice House on Oct 17, 2021. Survived by loving son Monte (Janet), brother John Brown and sister Evelyn Enquist and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill of 55 years in 2003, sisters Margery, Mollie, Agnes and brother Bill. Edna's husband was a member of the RCAF and together they lived a wonderful, full life. They had great fun at all the bases they were posted to over the years. There were colourful experiences from the polar bears in Churchill, the bitter cold of Snag, Yukon (which still boasts the coldest recorded temperature in North America) to Goose Bay, Labrador, Foymount, Ontario and Winnipeg. They treasured their 4 1/2 years in Germany and all that the European culture had to offer. In 1988 they settled in Kelowna and loved the beauty and people of the Okanagan. Up to this past summer, Edna worked in Monte’s Golf Shop helping out in any way she could. She loved the daily contact with the customers and because of her sociable and caring nature she was a friend to all. Many thanks to Dr. Naude and all the wonderful people at Interior Health and Hospice House who helped so much to make her last days more comfortable. Thank you as well to all her relatives and many friends in Kelowna and throughout Canada who have been so supportive.
Due to Covid restrictions, there will not be a service at this time.
