Gwen was born on July 14, 1930, and grew up surrounded by her family, including her beloved parents, her sister Eileen, and her brother John. She carried the values of kindness, resilience, and devotion to family with her throughout her life.
At just 14 years old, Gwen met the love of her life, Ron. Their bond grew into a remarkable partnership that spanned 61 years of marriage, filled with companionship, laughter, and unwavering support, until Ron’s passing. Their love story remained an inspiration to all who knew them.
Gwen was a devoted mother to her two sons, Steven and David. She took immense pride in her family and found great joy in watching it grow across generations. Steven and his wife Lisa blessed her with four cherished grandchildren: Tristan, Tate, Isabella, and Persia. David, along with his partner Faye, brought further joy to her life through his children, Sam and Madeleine, and their dogs, J.Edgar and Hugo. Gwen had a special place in her heart for her dear nieces, Ruthie, Lizzie, Susie and nephew John Jr. Gwen’s love for her family was boundless, and she will be remembered for the warmth, wisdom, and care she shared with each of them.
While living a wonderful life in and around Oakville, Ontario, in her later years, Gwen was part of the community at Northwood Retirement Community in Kelowna. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents for their kindness, companionship, and support. A special thank you is also extended to Violet and her caring team, as well as to Angela, for their compassion and dedication.
Gwen will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, strength, and family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026 in Ontario.
