Hans was born in Epe, Gelderland in the Netherlands on August 27, 1932 and immigrated to
Canada in 1950 with his parents and 3 sisters. The family settled in Alberta.
In 1954 Hans met the love of his life, Rengertje Van Rootselaar (Rena) and married in 1956.
In the summer of 1969 Hans and Rena along with their 3 children started a new adventure in
Penticton, BC and in the winter of 1972 finally settled in Kelowna, BC where the family started a
small cabinet shop called Norson Cabinets which later became Norelco Cabinets Ltd. In 1989
Hans sold the business and retired.
Hans will forever remain in the hearts of, his wife Rena of 65 years; his children: Nancy (Leif –
predeceased) Erickson, Don Norel, Rose-Anne (David) Yunker; grandchildren: Lavonna Erickson,
Jason (Angie) Yunker, Nicholas (Korin) Yunker, Patrick (Candice) Erickson, Roman Yunker,
Santana Yunker, Tamara (Kohei Nakamura) Norel and Zarek Norel; great-grandchildren: Logan
Yunker, Jack Yunker, Brody Yunker, Austin Yunker, Liam Yunker, Madelynn Erickson, Stevie-Rose
Yunker, Haley Yunker, Thurlow Nakamura, Annett Yunker and Burrard Nakamura. In addition to
his immediate family, Hans is survived by his 3 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, and many nieces,
