

Born in McCord, Saskatchewan. July 21, 1939 to Howard and Isabelle (West ) Taylor, Jim had a varied and colorful work history. He joined the Canadian Air Force at the age of 18 and was stationed in Quebec as a radar tech. For a time he was a police officer in for the City of Swift Current, SK. Then worked security at the airport in Gander, NFLD. Jim’s true calling was cooking. He managed a few different restaurants but is probably best known for owning “The Haven” in Mission Park, Kelowna, BC.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and his wife Gladys (Pasnak ) Taylor. He is survived by his children Kim, Greg and Laurie, multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces , nephews as well as his siblings Jack ( Carol ), Mae ( Dave ), Bob ( Winnie ) and Randy. Jim also leaves behind his loyal companion and fur baby Mojai.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 12:30 at First Memorial Funeral Services in Kelowna. Burial will follow at the City of Kelowna Memorial Cemetery at 2 pm.
