Jean Marie Forbes Rutz

April 29th, 1936 - July 25th 2025.

It is with deep sadness that we share that Jean unexpectedly passed away at home on July 25th, 2025 at the age of 89. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Jean was the proud mother of two daughters, Leslie (Rick) and Andrea (Dean). She was also fortunate to have four granddaughters, Talisa, Kaitlyn, Ashae and Taio, as well as one great granddaughter, Mila. She was married to Horst Rutz, the father of her children. After being widowed in 1986, she met Kenneth Webster a few years later and they happily spent many active retired years together before his passing in 2018.

Jean did her nursing training in Scotland, including midwifery and sick children's training. Jean worked as a registered nurse first in Scotland, then moved to Canada and worked in Moose Factory, Vancouver, and then finally in Kelowna, where she worked on the maternity ward. Jean (JR) had many fun and fulfilling years on 3 West and made long lasting friendships.

Jean was also very active throughout her life in her recreational time, playing tennis, skiing, golfing and enjoying travel to many places around the globe. In her last few years she continued to remain active, volunteering at the theatre, going to line dancing and chair yoga, walking daily, playing bridge and lunching with friends. Her favourite moments though, were the time spent with family.
