Marjorie Maude Butt

BUTT ( nee Hartness): Marjorie Maude . July 16, 1918 - July 5, 2014. Marjorie Butt passed away in Kelowna peacefully at the Sandalwood Retirement Resort on July 5th, eleven days short of her 96th birthday. Devoted wife of the late Douglas Robert Butt (2009). Loving mother of Shannon (Dr. Anthony Graham) Toronto; Richard Butt, deceased (Sheila Butt) Vancouver; and William, Coquitlam. Remembered dearly by her grandchildren Mark Graham (Catherine), Heather McCourt (Bryan), Suzanne Henderson (Darcy), Ryan Butt (Julia), Ross Butt (Alaina), Katrina Butt, Kevin Butt (Ashley), and Amanda Butt, and her seven great-grandchildren. Marjorie and her husband Douglas were the centre of their large and adoring family’s lives. Their worldwide travels included many trips with family, with life long memories made in Maui and Osoyoos. Marjorie was a businesswoman well ahead of her time. She and Douglas were the proud owners of Butt & Bowes Food Equipment in Vancouver for over 60 years, before retiring to Osoyoos and more recently Kelowna. The family wishes to thank her dedicated care team led by Grace Beck, and more recently by Debbie Lovo, who ensured she was able to stay and enjoy her home until the end. A special thanks also to Linda Grant and Jessica Liu. She always enjoyed the steady stream of family visitors, who were greeted with her cheery smile and upbeat personality. Inurnment will be at the Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
