Marjorie Joyce Milroy

Marjorie slipped away during the early morning hours of December 16, 2021.

Marjorie was born September 13, 1940, the firstborn daughter of Archie and Luella Currie in Kelowna, B.C.

She was a lifetime resident of the Kelowna area; was recognized throughout the valley for her renowned catering business- Marjorie Milroy Catering. For decades she prepared sumptuous banquets for hundreds of weddings and special occasions.

Marjorie, together with her husband John Gordon Milroy (predeceased 2013), raised their 6 children: Daniel, Alan, Kelly, Murray, Marnie, and Kandace. She could boast of bearing 2 sets of twins. Not only did Marjorie raise 4 sons and 2 daughters of her own, she also provided “mom duties” to numerous foreign exchange students as well.

She will be fondly remembered for a good and trusting heart, combined with a willingness to give, a love of conversation, and an affinity for collecting pure junk. Being a good friend to many, and a lifelong friend to several, she will be desperately missed.

Marjorie is survived by her 4 siblings: Callie, Donna, Connie, and Lloyd, her 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

An invitation-only Service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10:00am, at First Memorial Funeral Services (1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC.). Interment to follow at Westbank Cemetery where Marjorie will be laid to rest with her husband, John.
