Dad was born in Ross Township, Ontario to Ernest and Marion Ross. He went to school in Jasper, Ontario. He enlisted at 19 years old in the Royal Canadian Air Force 1951 – 1964. His job was Mobile Support Equipment Support working on aircrafts. He served in several Cdn bases and stationed in Germany as well for 2 years. Following his military, he took up a career in construction and worked in different areas of BC and Alberta. He was a member of the Ironworkers Union Local 97 till his retirement in Kamloops. He remained there till Joyce passed away and soon after moved to Kelowna for the last years of his life.
He enjoyed many hobbies as he was very good with his hands, such as building and flying model airplanes, and woodworking projects in his shop. He loved his dogs, camping and he umpired softball games Joyce played in the senior league.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Sun Pointe Village, Kelowna, particularly the Ellison and Belgo communities for their compassion and the top notch care he received during the five years as a resident there. There was always a “Murray story” they would share with us when we visited him.
We will miss dad. He had a good life.
“We remember their love when they can no longer remember”
