Gordon (nee Hurndall/Cummings): Patricia (Patti) Florence Reeve , born January 25, 1924 in Brighton, England passed away at Kelowna General Hospital on November 2, 2011 after a short illness. Devoted wife of William (Rocky) Gordon, great Mom to children Mike (Wendy) Cummings of Comox, BC; Patti (Bryan) Kassa of Salmon Arm BC; stepchildren Tom (Barb) of Kelowna;John (Audrey); Bill (Margaret) and Wendy Gibson all of Saskatoon. Beloved grandmother to Kathleen (Clayton) Dyck, Maple Ridge and Krista (Ian) Richmond of Vancouver and Grandma Patti to Rocky's ten grandchildren and great grandmother to an additional ten. During WWII, Patti was a dispatch motorcycle rider with the British Land Army. She met Peter Cummings from Scotland and they married in November 1945 with their son Michael arriving in April 1947 and a daughter Patti in 1953. The family emigrated to Canada in 1954 settling in Ottawa, Ontario. Patti worked for the Federal Government in senior administration positions in a variety of departments (DND, Customs, Health & Welfare and Canada Revenue Agency) and in different locations (New Brunswick, Alberta and BC) as Peter was in the military, which necessitated moving. In her early years, she loved ballroom dancing, piano, family vacations, cooking (the best Steak and Kidney Pie and Yorkshire Puddings), and knitting (thank you for all those beautiful sweaters). In the 80's and 90s, Patti was a devoted member of the Lions/Lioness' Club and in the 90's, to the Kelowna Hospital Auxiliary. She retired early due to Peter's poor health and they moved to Kelowna in 1989 with Peter passing in 1993. She later met and married Rocky in 1995 and they enjoyed many great times together vacationing in Kauai or cruising to a variety of locations. The joy for them both is their dog, Abby. A Service will be held at St Pius X Catholic Church, 1077 Fuller Avenue, Kelowna on Saturday, November 5th at 1:30 pm, followed by a tea in the Parish Hall. Thank you to all to the staff on 4B at KGH--they were amazing and made Patti's last two weeks as comfortable as was possible. In lieu of flowers,
if you wish, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mem.com. Arrangements entrusted with First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna. 250-762-2299
