

KOCH – Peter passed away peacefully on December 14, 2012 at the age of 92. Predeceased by his loving wife, Eva, he is survived by his three sons; Donald (Florence) and granddaughter Elizabeth; Douglas (Joyce); Dennis (Beverly) and grandchildren Bryce and Hannah. Peter was born in Hodgeville, Sask. On May 10, 1920. Peter proudly served his country in The Second World War as a member of the No. 405 (EAGLE) RCAF Squadron, under the RCAF “Pathfinder” Command. He subsequently served at various Canadian bases in an administrative capacity until his retirement in 1976. Having lived in Kelowna in 1938, he returned in 1970 and later became a primary organizer in the establishment of Kelowna’s 883 Wing of the Air Force Association of Canada. He was proudly awarded a cherished Life Membership in 1999. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion since 1945 he was described as “a quiet and unobtrusive personality, who was always ready and willing to assist friends and associates with a humorous willingness.” We shall remember him. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association.
