Tena Ruth Mackay

April 15, 1919 ~ November 27, 2015

Tena passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015 at the age of 96, with her two daughters and son-in-law by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack; two daughters; Joyce and Louise; and grandson Todd.

He is survived by her two daughters: Jacqueline (Jackie) Thibaudeau and Darlene Tohivsky (Mike); sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; brother-in-law Tony MacKay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tena was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Emma and Victor Stoakes. She was very musical, and played various instruments including the piano, organ, and accordion. She also enjoyed oil painting and left many pictures for our remembrance. She was an active, energetic individual and full of life. Tena leaves a legacy of unconditional love. She will be missed by all, and will remain in our hearts forever.

The family is most grateful for the caring love and attention she received at Sutherland Hills Rest Home, especially the caretakers in Shady Oak, as well as Dr. Green.

A visitation for the comfort of family and friends will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna. Interment at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2850 Dry Valley Road, Kelowna, BC, and a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, also at First Memorial Funeral Services.
