Victoria Weinberger was born on May 24th, 1924, in Burgis, Saskatchewan. She was one of three daughters born to William and Agnes Demchuk.
She received her primary education in a small country school, West Wexford in Burgis. In
1939 the family moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan and she completed her high school at the Yorkton Collegiate Institute. She entered Teacher's College in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and taught in a number of country schools. She enjoyed her students and the teaching profession.
On September 12th 1953, Victoria was united in marriage to Edward (Ed) Weinberger. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Moosomin, Saskatchewan to operate a North Star Service station and a year later moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan to operate a Texaco and later Pacific 66 Service Station. Victoria took care of the office work plus pumped gas, cleaned windows - she worked side by side with her husband Ed. They were a loving and devoted couple
In 1989 after holidaying in Kelowna, they chose Kelowna for retirement. They purchased a home that in years past was part of an orchard and their yard consisted of a variety of fruit trees that produced a bumper crop each year which they shared with many.
Victoria enjoyed knitting and with her steady hand she created many beautiful Ukrainian Easter Eggs which she enjoyed sharing with relatives and friends. She taught herself to play the organ and shared her special gift in Weyburn on a Wednesday afternoon enjoying a sing-song with seniors in their seniors' complex.
In July 2012 she chose to move to Mountain View Village where she was very grateful for the kindness and caring that greeted her at the complex.
Victoria was predeceased by her husband Edward, and her parents, William and Agnes Demchuk. Left to celebrate her life with countless fond memories: her two sisters Lena Panchuk and Olga Tunnicliffe; nieces Gayle (Don) Jenner, Gwendolyn Filippelli, Sheri-Dawn (Reg) Robinson, Carla Ann Tunnicliffe, nephew, Wayne (Robin) Tunnicliffe, and Victoria's very special companion and pet, Jamie.
