
Josie Irene Carter was born on November 23, 1917 in Tolosa, TX to parents William Calvin Farley and Etta Bruner and entered into eternal rest on September 14, 2015 at the age of 97. Josie was known as “Nene”. She loved her family dearly and was strong in her faith. Josie loved sewing, cooking, being with her family and making chocky babas (hot chocolate) for her grandchildren. She worked as a seamstress at Sears for 15 years. Josie was Baptist by faith; attended Legendary Baptist church where she was involved in the youth activities. She loved living on the farm; where she taught her grandchildren to drive. Another love of Josie’s was going to the Aley’s picnic. Josie was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents, sons; James Farley and Ricky Carter, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Vickie Moses of Mesquite, son Danny Carter of Victoria, grandchildren; Angela, Eric, April, Joseph, Rush, Julie, Darlene, Dana, Danielle, Nicki and Calvin, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other loving family members and many more friends.
