

Juanita Lester was born on December 3, 1929 in Kaufman, Texas to parents Ewell H. and Otis May (Whittenberg) Walker and entered into eternal rest on February 1, 2016 at the age of 86. Juanita was known to her friends and family as Nita. She lived a full life loving music, fishing, cooking, gardening, dancing, dominoes, and quilting by hand. Nita graduated from Kaufman ISD, received a degree from TVCC and worked in the medicine nursing field for over 25 years. She had three sons in Viet Nam at the same time. Nita kept her family and faith close to her heart. She was a member of South Bowie Pentecostal Church where she played guitar, piano and sang. Nita was a loving caring lady who will be greatly missed.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Lester, son Johnny McLeroy, grandson Johnny Lynn McLeroy Jr., sister Lavon Chitty and brother Billy Walker.
She is survived by sons: Danny McLeroy and Frances of Seven Points, Donnie McLeroy of Dallas, Tommy McLeroy and Joyce of Malakoff, brother Grover Walker and Mary of College Station, sister Joyce Hassell and Kenneth of Farmersville, 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many loving friends.
