Vernon Benjaman Holcomb was born March 29, 1937 in Walker County, TN to parents Timothy Medford and Clara Ann (Colley) Holcomb and entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2018 at the age of 81. Vernon or "Bennie" as he was known by family was a generous, quirky, big hearted man. He was an inquisitive guy that liked to figure out how things worked. He was considered a "Jack of All Trades." At he age of 15 he was working in the coal mines and wanted to be drafted to get away from them. After serving our country in the United States Army he became a truck driver which continued for over 40 years.
Simply stated, Bennie was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Bennie leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Vernon Benjaman Holcomb.
Benny is preceded in death by his; parents and brothers; Jackie Roy Lee, Lonnie and Joe.
He is survived by his loving wife Allie Holcomb since 1964, his children; Carl of TN, Cheryl of TN, Garland of Chattanooga TN, Darrell and Elaine of Emory, TX, Aaron and Julie of Kaufman, Pat of Kaufman, Donald of Kemp, grandchildren; Carlene, April, Lea of TN, Tiffany and Julius of Mesquite, Hayley and Dusty of Kaufman, Justin of Emory, Tasha and Billy of Emory, great - grandkids; Collin, Cayden, Henley, Hazely, Kenzie, Sadie, Dakota, Jaden, Jaiden, Landry, Lawsyn, brothers; Johnny and Melba Holcolm of Jefferson, TX, Mack and Debra Holcolm of CA, Bobby Holcolm, sisters; Sue of Seagoville, Dorothy of Kemp, other loving family members and many more friends.
