Matthews Jr., loving mother of Joan (late Donald) Sanford, Deborah (late Manley) Tillou; grandmother of William Sanford, Michael (Lara) Tillou and Karen Tillou; great grandmother of Adam and Cameron Tillou. Barbara was the Chairman of the Women’s United Way in 1959 and continued to volunteer for the organization.
She was on the board of the Blind Association, Ingelside Home, and the Children’s Hospital Aid Association. Barbara was
a longtime member and past president of the Garret Club for over 75 yrs and the Buffalo Yacht Club.
She was an avid bridge player, skiier, tennis player, and world traveler to all seven continents. She attended and supported all the local theatres and spent summers for 60 years at their home in Rosehill Ontario.
