Marie I. Defalco, age 97, of Williamsville, New York passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Marie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a devoted and caring daughter who was committed to her mom, Jennie , with a selflessness that was unwavering .
Marie graduated from Nardin Academy and briefly attended D’Youville College. She was a meticulous and highly competent assistant to the president of J. H. Williams. After many years home with her “girls “, Marie returned to the workforce as an administrative assistant at the Buffalo Board of Education. Her favorite position was working at Buffalo Alternative High School.
Marie loved and appreciated life, always seeing beauty in simplicity…. Snow on the trees, the look of the sky, or the sound of the wind chimes. Marie walked in beauty and grace, smiling on all who knew her.
Marie enjoyed tennis golf, and was a faithful and hard-working tennis and golf partner to Joe. She was fierce and strong , despite seeming extremely demure and she never gave up.
She loved her “girls “unconditionally, and Joe was the love of her life. They were a sweet and shining example of lifelong love, married over 76 years, holding hands to the very end… Marie will be sorely missed, but we are blessed to have had her in our lives.
