July 2nd, 1949, Portsmouth, OH – March 18, 2025, Acworth, GA
Mary Richardson passed away on March 18, 2025. She joins her husband, Ralph Q. Richardson Jr. She is one of six children of David and Virgina Arthur, and sister to Dennis Arthur, Larry Arthur and Linda Shott who precede her in death. She is survived by sisters Susie Logan and Janie Wilbur.
Mary was an amazing mom to her daughters Susan Rodgers and Patricia Reeder. One of the biggest joys of her life was caring for her children and grandchildren. A proud grandma to Chris Reeder, Kathryn Rodgers, Patrick Reeder, Ian Reeder John Rodgers, and a great grandma to Carsson Ralphie and Magnolia Reeder.
When not playing with her children and grandchildren, Mary loved everything crafty. She was known as a person who could crochet anything, bake a wedding cake, scrapbook, woodwork and could throw an amazing party! Mary always knew how to have fun and taught her family how to find joy. Her favorite vacations were at theme parks with her children.
Mary was an executive assistant at Georgia Marble, Law Environmental, Barco and other companies throughout her career. She later opened her own secretarial business from which she retired. She had amazing organizational skills, had mastered shorthand, and could type 95wpm (it was amazing to watch her type).
After her husband Ralph’s passing, Mary resided at The Lodge at Aspen Village, Celebration Village Acworth and Townsend Rehabilitation and Nursing home.
Mary is greatly loved and missed by many. Heaven is brighter today having her in it.
Her celebration of life will be Monday, March 24 at 11am at Winkenhoffer Funeral Home in Kennesaw
Ralph Quinn Richardson Jr.
May 8th, 1942 Miami, FL – March 28, 2020 Dallas, GA
Oldest son of Ralph Q. Richardson Sr. (with whom he shared a birthday) and Hazel Eloise Richardson. Brother to Melissa Richardson, Uncle to Theresa Fowler and Sonny Fowler. Beloved husband to Mary Arthur Richardson, and completely awesome Dad to Susan Rodgers and Patricia Reeder. A well-loved father-in-law to Howard Rodgers and Scott Reeder, and a very proud grandfather to Kathryn Rodgers, Patrick Reeder, Ian Reeder, John Rodgers and Christopher Reeder.
Ralph was proud of his service in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves. Ralph retired from Bell South after 30 years of service where he was a lineman.
Anyone who knew Ralph, loved his wit, charm, great smile, and incredible hugs. As a second father to many of his children’s friends, Ralph had a huge capacity to love. His personality was as big as his appetite for good southern cooking. His favorite pastimes were talking on the phone to those he loved and having a good chat with total strangers. A bit of a flirt, he never hesitated to brighten a ladies’ day by complimenting them. In his earlier years, Ralph loved fishing of all kinds and working with his hands. He could fix anything, and often did for others who could not. Smiling until the very end, Ralph is now with his Lord and all his family and friends who have gone before him. He even wore his tuxedo for the occasion.
We will miss you.
