Benjamin Richard Rocca, age 89, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, 9:00 am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, a Mass will follow at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, in Kennesaw, at 10:30 am.

He was affectionately known to all who knew him as “Ben’” or “Benny” passed at the age of 89. Originally from Buffalo, New York, he enlisted in the USMC and served during the Korean War and earned the National Defense Service Medal for honorable service along with his other service decorations. As of late, he was an avid ‘Turner Classic Movie’ buff, a passionate Atlanta Braves fan, Marietta Blue Devils sports fan, and always a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed getting up early, reading the Marietta Daily Journal, doing the crossword puzzle and making a whole pot of coffee. He most enjoyed his time with his Family and both visiting and being on his “Flip” phone with them. He was a beloved husband of Marian Louise (Ruschmann), a loving father and grandfather (Grandpa) and brother. He will be missed by many. He loved his Church and his fellow parishioners at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Father Neil & Clergy, and was active in the “Seniors” group of the parish.

He was preceded in death by his wife and will be lovingly remember by his children; his son, Thomas Michael (Lucie) and his daughter, Mary Lou Theresa (Maria), and his Granddaughters, Jo Hanna S, Alexandria “Dria” Nichole, and Victoria Rose. He was preceded in death by parents, late father Benoit Rocca and late mother Johanna (Hastreiter) and survived by his sisters Jo-Ann & Marie, and brother-in-law, James.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday morning, between 9:00 to 10:00 AM, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, at 2950 Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152, 770-422-7299.
