Callie Crowe Jones, 81, of Acworth, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Funeral service is Saturday, February 16, 11am at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Acworth with Revs. Michael Smith and Don Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
Born in Gainesville, GA Callie had been a resident of Acworth for many years and befriended everyone she met. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and was an active participant with the WMU Auxiliary. Callie, according to her family, was the best biscuit maker around; she loved to cook for the family. Ms. Jones also loved gardening and watching the humming birds that would visit her flowers. Callie will be remembered as very loving and giving person who put other’s needs before her own.
Those whom survive are her daughters – Terri Reece and Donna Colkitt; sons – Tracy Freeland and Todd Jones; sister – Clara Shumake. Four grandchildren also survive her.
The family is receiving friends Friday, February 15 from 5 – 8 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw.
