Hardly even a short time can pass without thinking about you Buddy. You still are a good and steady friend. Whatever place you are in, those around you are the better for it.

I could see there was something missing in your eyes, there was something missing inside, something you could not hide, I realized by and by I could see something missing in your eyes...You has so much pride, I did not ask the reason, it was not the time nor the season, we both knew why...then I heard you had gone and died...which made me cry, because I knew there was something missing in your eyes. I ask you to take care of yourself because you were there for everyone else...I just knew, I just knew there was nothing left for you...So God did what he had to do, to take care of you...Your burden are over no crosses to bear...you are no longer here... now we are being consoled, while your story is being told... I was deeply saddened with the passing of Chuck. Besides working with Chuck over the last 18 or so years at DCMA Lockheed, we shared a passion to support our troops. We both went through BCOT and CRR together in preparation for his last CCAS deployment. He talked extensively about his lovely wife Cheryl and his home projects underway. I deployed with Chuck to Iraq.He was always good for a few laughs to lighten up the situation. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.

It is a great testament of the life Chuck lived to read so many fond compliments about him and the best thing,it's the truth. He was a  good father, friend, co-worker,  just an overall great person.

I was deeply saddened when I learned of Chuck's passing today. Chuck and I went to high school at Valdosta together. He was my good friend and doubles partner on the high school tennis team. We lost touch after high school but I can still see the quiet young man with the twinkle in his eye and the wry sense of humor.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Chuck was a good friend when I knew him and it is obvious that he stayed true to himself as he grew older. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was a sweet, kind, loving man. Chuck talked about you a lot and said the happiest day of his life was the day you were born.

I only met Chuck one time however just during those few days over the holidays I could tell what a good and giving person he was. He took my husband(who he barely knew) engagement ring shopping and welcomed us into their home. He will always be remember.  He had a great heart and I know he will be missed dearly.

Chuck I wish I had more then just one time of meeting you to hang out again. I'm going to miss you man. I am so happy you and my mother found each other. I sat over the wall from Chuck and often saw him during the day....and as many have already said, Chuck was smiling. He and I often would speak however briefly in the hall over the last 6 years - it was still fun. He definitely was a people person and lit up the area where he was. He will be greatly missed.

We have lost complete contact over the years but i was a close friend of Charles 's sister, Florence. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding, her mother gave me a bridal shower, and "Chuckie", was the ring bearer at my wedding. He was a cute little boy and coming from such a wonderful family, i know he grew into a fine man. My sympathy to his family. My husband passed away last July after fifty years of marriage. I know the hurt you are feeling and will offer a prayer for the family.

I offer my deepest sympathies to the Darnell family. Chuck will always remain in my memory as a man who knew how to laugh. I'll always look back to the time we were teammates on the C-5 Modernization program with joy.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Chuck was the first ACO I worked with at DCMA. He was a kind, sweet man who always found time to laugh. We had so many great times on the C-5 Program. He called me from Iraq not long before I left for Canada to wish me well. If only I would have known that was to be the last time we spoke. I would have had so much more to say. Thank you CD for bringing so much joy and happiness into Chuck's life. I had never seen him so happy as he was after he met you. Chuck was a wonderful man and he will be greatly missed. My condolences to the entire Darnell family.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Chuck Darnell. He was a friend and helped me greatly as a new DCMA employee. I will always remember his  respectful and calm manner. He was in all ways a true gentleman. Rest in Peace my brother.

Chuck must of heard him say:
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

Chuck was so deeply loved at DCMA. I was blessed to work under his guidance on the C-5 team.  In the mist of times like this, know that God will carry you thru.

Chuckers (the nickname I gave him) was such a sweetheart. He was the 1st ACO I had and a great mentor. We had so many good times over the years and he has always checked up on me and my son even with our move to Boston last year. That's just who he was, a pleasant sweet spirit that I'm thankful to call my colleague and my friend. I had a laugh today as I thought back to when he was on the C5 program and I was teaching him how to walk with soul in his office. I'm sure Marcia remembers that because there were so many good times. We will miss you Chuckers! Keep on smiling and dancing because that is the way I will always remember you! I offer my condolences for Chuck and his family. I saw Chuck the day before his passing and I will miss his calm demeanor and his uplifting smile.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I felt when I received the news of Chucks passing. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I served with Chuck both here at home and in Iraq and always marveled at how balanced and even keeled Chuck was in all conditions we faced.  I am proud to have known him and better for his company.  The day is a little less bright without him.
