Born in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles and Thelma Peavy.
Chuck was a graduate of North Cobb High School as well as Gupton-Jones Mortuary College. He started his career in funeral service at Collins Funeral Home in 1974, he then worked at Owen Funeral Home for two years and then began working at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in 1992. His service to families in the North Cobb area spanned 48 years.
Chuck was a true sports fan and enjoyed following the Atlanta Braves, the Tennessee Volunteers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, his favorite player being Trevor Lawrence #16. He loved the game of softball and spent many years coaching at Kenworth, West Cobb, Adams Park and East Cobb. Chuck was a member of the Acworth Masonic Lodge and NorthStar Church in Kennesaw.
He was a man of immense humor, and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. Chuck was the calm to most people’s storms, he had a way of comforting you at your worst. He loved big and had a servant heart. Chuck enjoyed his ministry and wanted to make Heaven crowded.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife Karen Cheek Peavy of Acworth; daughters, Erica Peavy Cook (James “Jimmy” Cook); Alex Sullivan (Craig Sullivan); sisters, Jo Ellen Jacobs and Beverly Williams (Charles Williams); grandchildren, Avery Grace, Ryleigh Faith and Liam Charles
A visitation for family and friends to gather will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152
Chuck will lie in state between the hour of 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at NorthStar Church, the Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Mike Linch officiating will begin at 3:00 PM. Following the service Chuck will be interred at Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Kennesaw.
