Deloris Ann Swanson Thresher, age 77, of Kennesaw, Ga. Passed away on November 3, 2011, at Kennestone Hospital. Mrs. Thresher was born on May 2, 1934, in Lincoln County, West Virginia. She was a member of the Camp Branch United Baptist Church in Branchland, West Virginia.
She resided in Miami, Florida for 14 years, working at the Dobbs House. She worked 22 years for the Marietta Piccadilly, which was her passion and joy – serving the public. The late Gov. Lester Maddox was a special friend and customer.
She was the daughter of the late Mona Roy Swanson Scites, Earl Wondel Swanson, and step-father Earl Scites.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold A. Thresher;
Sister, Brenda Moore; Brothers, Jerry Lee Swanson, Bobbie Swanson, and Roger Scites.
Mrs. Thresher is survived by: Sister, Barbara Jean Rucker of Kennesaw; Brothers, Earl Ray Scites and Eppie Scites of Branchland, West Virginia; Step-son, Hal Thresher of Boca Raton, Fla.; Sisters-in-law, Betty Swanson and Josephine Arnold of Branchland, West Virginia; 9 Nephews, 5 Nieces; Many Piccadilly special friends and family; Special friends: Mrs. Mildred Long, Joe & Pat Smoot; and Michael & Linda Harrelson.
Pall Bearers: Dan Rucker, Justin Rucker, Zack Rucker, Jake Chastain, Joe Smoot, and Tom Long.
