

He is preceded in death by his parents Dewey Sr. and Lela Tapp. Sister Evelyn Bruce. His beloved wife Maggie Estelle, whom he was married to for 72 years, Son Curtis Tapp and grandson Dylan Tapp.
Survivors include three sons, David (Pat) Tapp, Brian Tapp, and Tim Tapp. Daughter Phyllis Westland (Jeff). Grandchildren; Jennifer Tapp, Stephanie Wolfe, Matthew Chula, Kevin Tapp, Victoria Schneider (Ian), snd Brianna Westland. Great Grandchildren; Cove and Jettson Schneider and Avery Wolfe. Brother Ray Tapp. Brother-in-law Harold Cottrell and Sister in law Marilyn Pham. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Dewey proudly served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. After he got out of the military he worked as an automotive body person until he retired. He had a strong work ethic and he taught his children that as well. He loved old cars and was a former member of the Contemporary Historical Vehicle Association or CHVA. At one time he owned a beautiful burgundy 1948 Buick Super and enjoyed showing it at car shows. He loved sports and enjoyed playing a good game of horseshoes. He and his wife Estelle enjoyed watching Family Feud, American Pickers, and the Atlanta Braves.
Due to weather a chapel service for Dewey will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
