Eddie Dean Entrekin, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on January 24, 1951, Eddie was a beloved and adventurous soul, known for his bravery, his deep love for family, and his gift for enjoying life to the fullest. He was a devoted husband to Sharon and a loving father, whose hard work, humor, and inspiring spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Eddie’s career was distinguished by his service in the United States Marine Corps, where his attention to detail and innate leadership thrived. He proudly served as an E-5 Sergeant and earned both the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. After completing his honorable service, he carried those same qualities of resilience, discipline, and commitment into every aspect of his life.
A man of many interests, Eddie embraced life with a deep love for the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, camping, boating, and sitting around his pool. He delighted others with his talents for magic tricks, billiards, and karaoke, and his enthusiasm for board games and puzzles was matched only by his joy in teaching others how to play. A gifted storyteller, Eddie had a way of captivating any room, and everyone loved to hear him share his stories. He also had a keen eye for photography and was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. Ever adventurous, he even took to the skies through skydiving. His athleticism was equally impressive, earning a black belt in karate and a Golden Gloves title in boxing.
Eddie was also a devoted and active member of his community, proudly serving in the Local 85 Sheet Metal Union, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. Through his work, he helped build some of Atlanta’s tallest high-rise buildings, leaving a lasting mark on the city’s skyline. He spent his final 17 years at McKenney’s, where he made meaningful contributions and formed lasting friendships. After 30 years of committed service with Local 85, Eddie retired, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, pride, and integrity.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Entrekin; children Marc Entrekin and Jennifer Reynolds (Chad); grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Entrekin and Lily, Lucas, and Lawson Reynolds; sisters Wanda Thompson and Rhonda Ellis; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gladys Entrekin and siblings, Mildred Cotter, Michael Entrekin, and Curtis Entrekin.
