

Eldon “Don” Walter Houck, born 5/19/38 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Walter and Pauline Houck. Died 12/9/20 of Stage 4 lung cancer. He is survived by his wife Cynthia (Beaman) and children Cathy (Geoffrey) Wright, Edwin Houck, and Karen (Nathan) Thompson. His grandchildren Cody and Jarod Wright, Ansley and Delaney Thompson, and Katherine and Wesley Houck. His brother Earl R. Houck. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Jan Kirk and brother James Houck.
He attended Purdue University and pledged Kappa Sigma fraternity. He left college to join the Army Reserves and get married (July 16, 1960). He was employed by FMC-LinkBelt in Indianapolis, IN from 1960 to 1972 and in Chicago, IL from 1972 to 1978. He was employed by Simmons U.S.A. in Atlanta, GA from 1978 to 1986. He was employed by West Point Pepperell, in Lynette, AL from 1986 to 1991. He retired as Director of Transportation with Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville, IN from 1992 to 2006.
In 2006, Don and Cindy retired to Kennesaw, GA where they lived until 2018 when they moved to Roswell, GA.
He was a member of the Kennesaw United Methodist Church. A long-time member of the Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity. He worked for the Cobb County Board of Commissioners at many different polling locations thru 2018. During retirement he enjoyed traveling with the Kappa Sigma fraternity and spending time with his family.
