Eveline Windsor

Eveline Ann (Pina) Windsor, 90, of Acworth, GA died Saturday, November 17, 2011. Funeral service will be held at the Grace Community Christian Church in Kennesaw beginning at 12pm on Friday, December 23, 2011 with Dr. Christopher Chappell officiating. Burial will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Friday beginning at 2:30pm. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Eveline, born November 9, 1921 in New Bedford, MA, was the daughter of the late Antonio and Margarida Pina, both immigrants from Cape Verde. After attending school in New Bedford she moved to Washington DC to work for the U.S Navy Department and later to Stamford, CT where she met her husband, Jesse. She and Jesse raised their family in Stratford, CT, where they lived for 47 years before moving to Acworth, GA 6 years ago. Eveline was a proud member of the Grace Community Christian Church in Kennesaw, GA, the Cape Verdean Women’s Association of Bridgeport, CT and the Order of the Eastern Star, Bridgeport, CT. She was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jesse Windsor, daughter Susan Avery of Acworth, GA , son Thomas Pina Windsor (Ramona) of Germantown, WI and three granddaughters she adored: Alanna ,Taylor, and Annalise. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews Carolyn, Geraldine (Jaye), Daniel, Antonio, David, Margaret (Peggy), Linda, Steven, Kenneth, and Alfred as well as many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio E. Pina and Margarida Pina (Pina), her brothers, Henry A. Pina, Daniel A. Pina , Joseph A. Pina, John Pina and her sister, Dominga P. Tavares.
