Jacqueline “Jacky” Pumphrey Drick
July 17, 1941 – August 18, 2025
Jacqueline “Jacky” Pumphrey Drick, lovingly known as *Mumsy* to her daughters and *Oma* to her grandchildren, was born on July 17, 1941, in Decatur, Illinois, to her beloved parents, Earl & Cecile Riel Pumphrey. She passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that touched everyone she met. A Funeral Mass will be held to honor Jacky on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta, GA. Jacky will be interred at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw, GA following the service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Jacky’s name to St. Jude at www.stjude.org
Jacky graduated from Plainfield High School and attended Lewis University. She went on to dedicate over twenty years of her life to serving others as a paraprofessional at Life Chiropractic College, where her compassion and patience impacted countless lives. Jacky had a close personal relationship with God and was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Outside of her work, Jacky’s joy in life was evident in everything she did. A voracious reader, she could often be found with a stack of ten library books—each of which she would finish in just two weeks. She loved to dance, test her wit at trivia nights with friends, and shop with her daughters. Traveling and taking cruises brought her adventure and joy, while visits to all-you-can-eat buffets filled her with laughter and stories. Above all, her greatest happiness came from the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Jacky was a vibrant soul with a smile and a giggle that could light up any room. Her heart was as generous as it was gentle. She was soft-spoken but always thoughtful, the kind of person who would give her last dollar to someone in need and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Her love extended not only to her family and friends but also to every animal that crossed her path. She was affectionately known as the “pet grandparent,” happily embracing the furry companions her family cherished.
Jacky is survived by her daughters, Lisa Sherwood & husband Gregory, Julie Drick, and Amy Drick; son, Eric Drick & wife Deanna; brother, Jimmy Pumphrey; grandchildren, Christopher Drick, Brandon Drick, and Raegan Drick and Brandon & Raegan’s mother, Dany Drick . She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Cecile Pumphrey; sisters, Patricia Jungles and Suzanne Cassani; brother, Michael Pumphrey
Jacky will be remembered for her quiet strength, her endless thoughtfulness, and the way she made everyone feel special and loved. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to inspire kindness in all who knew her.
