I’m Shaun W., I was Jim’s roommate & caregiver about ten years, since 2014. 
I met him through my dad who was friends and worked at the same place at Northside hospital. Jim was an engineer & my dad , a security officer.  There they had small Bible studies there and good talks. Back in 2014 or so, Jim had a heart attack and was asked if someone can be with him. I was asked to stay with him and I offered. 
I remember when I first moved in, he liked working out on his treadmill bike everyday. I was amazed at his energy, also walking a lot. Then found out he ran the Peachtree road race and was in military! 
He was also one of the “few” people i know today that still  reads newspapers. 

I also found out over time, he loved the Braves- He had pictures of them, watched the games almost every day of the season, had a signed autograph of John Smoltz and a small baseball collection, like one of Braves superstar Acuna. He was glad that he watched the Braves won the World Series one more time for him in 2021. 
He had a strong interest of cars, old ones especially. I remember him saying he owned a Plimith. 

Every Christmas, he made Christmas cards and sent them out to everyone in his family and to his church at the time. He said it was traditional, so I helped him pick out pretty cards  and he  sign his cards and send out. He cared a lot for his family and friends despite not remember their names sometimes. 
He loved eating. Every week, sometimes 2-3x a week he goes to his fav place Waffle House and the people there recognized him, saying “hey Mr. Jim!”!
Sometimes he would go to IHOP and get the gigantic Colorodo omelet and he EATS all of it or most of it!” Wow. 
Jim was not only a roommate , but a friend & a brother to me. Living with him for 10 years taught me to see how fragile, but precious our life can be. Thank you Jim for helping and teaching me over the years. You’re finally at peace.

A special memory about Jim was that where ever  he went ( especially in church) he would make sure everyone would receive a hug. He loved to make people feel loved  and  sharing the love of the lord.

Hello, my name is Brandon Wheeler. We've known Mr. Jim for many years, he knew my dad when he worked at Northside Hospital and my brother lodged with him for some time. Mr. Jim was a caring man, he was always asking about others and everything. He loved to eat, loved watching the Braves, and listening to Word. He liked to watch lots of Bible programs and everything. One of his favorite accomplishments he talked about was running the oeachtree road race, which to me him doing it in his later years is an inspiration. He was a very sweet man, and we're all going to miss him. Love you Mr. Jim

Jim was my brother in law.  I was married to his brother Floyd. Although we haven’t been close over the past 20 years or more I still remember his love of family and his love for Jesus. Jim always enjoyed socializing with his family and was outgoing and loved to have fun and laugh. Jims strong faith through the years reminds us to have a close relationship with God so when we close our eyes for the last time, we will open them in heaven, and meet our Lord and be reunited with our family. God bless you, Jim….rest in peace.
